Okay, this is pretty cool! I need to "recheck out" PythonCard! here is an article on it (from Kevin's blog)

Here is some info on using PythonCard with XML-RPC!

And now for a totally different broadcast, The issues with using "Through the Web" interfaces for content management (by Anil Dash). And more on XML-RPC here!

And here we have Marc Barrot's active renderer. Go Marc!

Just subscribed to Paolo's weblog. Need to figure out how to post previous stories from a blog that I've JUST subscribed to! for example I would have liked to liked to his iPod story.

This is really cool. Here Paolo is using his iPod to host his Radio install, so he can actually take his iPod with him anywhere he goes and just plug it in and viola! I can't believe noone has come up with an interface for one of the "luggable" keyboards to the iPod? that would be cool! instant PDA!

Read a little bit about ZoÎ Don't know how I can use it. interesting idea though!

Been thinking of using Plone for the Dentistry industry. Here is what it should have (as I was thinking on the subway):

  • Homepage (Has info about the practice, doctors, hours of operation, phone number, a picture of gums?)
    • A patient activity indicator right on the frontpage.. Heavy, Medium, Low
    • A "Patients Waiting" indicator This should be implemented with a handy popup window that you can increment/decrement from your desktop (login/javascript/zope)
  • New Patients page (create a login)
  • Regular patients page (have already created a login)
  • Dentist and Hygenist schedules!
  • Calendar of vacations (is it too much personal info? but you can call and find out from the receptionist anyways!?!)
  • A way to request an appointment:
    • Either fill a form and the receptionist would tell you if its available
    • or.. make the calendering available on the site itself. The receptionist does the walkin people on the site, and you can log in and do their own appointments if there is an empty spot in the calendar.
    • Ability for the receptionist to update the calendar in real time so that we know where different doctors are in terms of working with their patients. An automatic method of wait calculation could be written
  • A page where you could look up your records
  • A way for the office admin to enter your visit info and notes (public, ie for you/private for the clinic view)
  • A scheduled job that would send out email reminders to patients for their emails. (a cost saving feature)
  • A news page where news of interest to the clinic's Patients would be written by the doctors or by the office admin.
  • A very easy interface, so that most people can deal with it.
  • All the information should be in "implementation neutral" format. ie; in xml or something so that we can export it and import it back into the next version of the system (upgrade friendly)
  • The patients should get their own page (public or private) on which they would put different info like their allergies, etc. Their xrays could be made available there in jpg format or something.

Doesn't this sound like a great idea? Now only I need to write this package, and then sell it to about 500 clinics to make any real residual income...

boy I gotta lotta walkin and cold callin to do!
