Back to life

Hmm, seems like things were a little screwed up here for a while because of my general lack of Postgres knowledge. I've turned on autocommit now - let's see if this gets rid of the "can't do anything because of an aborted transaction" errors.

Formatters

OK, bzero is getting pluggable formatters. This means you can say "%format foo" instead of "%format html" and them the post will be formatted with ~/.bzero/blogname/formatters/foo.py or /usr/local/bzero/formatters/foo.py. So you can put in what you like ...

This post is formatted with the 'colorful' format (which will be part of the 0.19 release :-)

Heh - check this out. Colorful search. Will that link work?

OK, blogs with unicode chars in the title are OK now

It looks like bzero didn't like people with weird blog titles; it would print out the blog title from time to time, and this would cause a UnicodeEncodeError (or something). 'bzero editlast', notably, caused this. So you could post but not edit.

Anyway, now it wraps stdout in a unicode wrapper so all output should be unicode. I'm not sure if this is quite the right thing to do, but at least it won't fail catastrophically like before!

Does bzero run under Python 2.3?

I've been getting requests recently for Python 2.3 builds of bzero -- it seems that .pyc files from 2.2 don't run any more. I've never tested bzero under 2.3 before, so here's a first go at it ... !
