Mmmmm....Ice Cream

Tonight I enjoyed Ice Cream. (Click on the picture for more details)

Afterward I went to Spy-Kids 3d with the boys. A few scary spots for a just turned 3 year old. Only one "I'm scared" mutterance from nearing 5 Evan. I wasn't too impressed with the 3d glasses and affects.  I think we were too close and I've been spoiled on an I-Max 3d viewing of a Hitchcock's Birds short. I give this one a solid "Dollar Theatre" ranking.

Off to the library (3 block walk) to wait for Tam to return. A Thomas wooden train set (non-movable tracks) at a Library sure enraptures the kids...to the extent our library has publicly posted a "Watch your kids, #$Y*#!" sign. (Yes, I'm paraphrasing.)

While I waited I managed to get mostly through Shel Silverstein's LAFCADIO. Great book. Still trying to digest the ending. Strangely enough I feel about the same as I did after The Blair Witch Project.

Finished the night driving cars around a makeshift race track of Childcraft Encyclopedias.

Doesn't look like there will be zwiki hacking tonight.  Up at 5 to head to a college surplus sale in the morning to hopefully snag a PC I can call my own.  This desk has become the Juder feeding station. (The PC is a bit of an excuse, I'm a (legal) secondary market passive enthusiast. In high school and some college I enjoyed gov't auctions, landing me one big sale (copier-very,very lucky find) but mostly stuff I had to work for a use for. The RS-232 terminals found a home, XT's did not. LaserWriter I w/ extra toner cartridge justified themself with one English paper (Monospaced courier double-spaced squeeked out 10 pages!), ThinkJet didn't.  Now I have a collection of early mass-production computer mice, every PC processor up through Pentium "I", Windows 1.0 w/ box in mediocre shape, and an assortment of office supplies. I think the boxes of useless cards, RAM and cables can go without sayi--

MMmmmm...Ice Cream.
