CueCat
I'm currently looking for an excuse to get cue-cat bar code reader. Jonathan D. Rosebaugh, aka "Skip" seems to have earned his google-name through his Python code to process the input.
I got on that diversion as Tam is looking for a good shopping list manager for a Palm Pilot. Any suggestions? I was disappointing not to find any hits for "shopping" at the Palm Open Source site.

Domain Driven Design, FLOOT, TDD
Tonight I learned of a draft available for an upcoming book "Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software."
Lately I've been pondering the balance of tools, field and social growth. When I'm stuck in something so broad it's nice to latch on to something and examine the angles of DDD in light of these broad concepts. More on this after I've digested a bit.
DDD seems a bit more applicable than "FLOOT": Full Life Cycle Object Oreintated Testing Method, which is lower on my priority list, as I'm currently nudging towards the discipline for TDD.

Journaling
Blogging brings with a conscience similar to that of a new Christian's prayer life. "I could blog this.." "I could (should I?) pray about this..." A sort of echo to ones conscienceness. I have a number of these echos, such as "I wonder who could use that...", "Is that safe, effecient, multi-faceted, (and other angles of paranoia to eclecticity.)", and ultimately "Wonder what Tam would think about that" and "Wish Tam were here to add her insight to this conversation." My appreciation cognition is somewhat high. Some personality test might say "judgemental" but that I avoid those connotations.
I continue reading the "Universal Church of Cosmic Uncertainty" partly due to the glimpse of life a. Single, b. Big City, c. Job Searching, .. human interest of a fellow tech-head.
I started Nomadic Ponderings wanting to capture our life's sharable moments, and weblog. Tam has again impressed me, although as late can't write much while arms tied with child.
Still with me? When I have a lot of perceive free time my "I want to remeber/share--BLOG--this" cues fire more often than I can write. When starting blogging it amazed me how much of my thoughts are private. This week I wrote about a past humor excursion and today's ineffecient surprise friends and family day yet in both cases spent much to long writing, and even more time editing and polishing. Partway through my 3rd edit I'm officially tired and would rather not post (more) choppy prose that I can't keep up on. If your interested in any of the following headlines please write, and I'll blog:
- My local Wal*Mart store would not match www.walmart.com online prices. I did not make a fuss. I sent feedback throught the online channels and was notified that they get my submission.
- My friend received his Pilots License in February and stopped last minute (:-)) to have lunch with us on there way home. Kids were enjoyed and only infrequently trouble.
- I wabbled trying not to step on my toddler and ended up falling back on a table, breaking the plastic connector between the leg and tabletop. Milk splattered, Condiments skattered. Crowd stunned but unscathed.
- Jude now sits up and is troubled by velcro enabled baseball stuck to berber carpeting. Beatiful smile ensues.
- Ike asked for an umbrella when asked if he would like to run out of the rain with his brother. Later throws children's encyclopedia grazing Evans shin. Sent to room, plays happily by himself.
- Evan bites Ike for "I don't know"..."He had something very special to me."-"What?!"-"My harmonica."
- Silly cleverish and/or word-play jokes of mine between a ?? named Freud and the Duck lead me to learning of Tom Swifties and new appreciation for Get Fuzzy.
Why does blogging consume extra brain cycles? I'm strugging to find a good "Free as in.." line for todays Get Fuzzy., and the lookup to a context clue-in hyperlink.
