Charles Miller talks about cloud spaces. He wants a nicer way to keep track of referrers to his weblog. Something easier to use than blogdex and trackback.
This sounds like exactly what the WMDI project wants to do. My ecosystem does it for front pages, but I don't have the bandwidth to crawl all 9000 blogs every day, so it's always a few days (max 7) out of date.
Another idea would be to write a crawler that grabs sites when they ping weblogs.com, and keeps track of all the links. That way you could keep up to date without using too much bandwidth, and if you could figure out permalink URLs, you could keep track of individual entries. Hmm.
