Doom |

After a frustrating day at work I decided to have a game of Doom, vintage Doom 1 that is, I don't have the hardware for Doom 3. I haven't played a 3ps for over a year and now I feel quite sick. I can still circle-straff though.

Cookie Paranoia |

My cookie paranoia was such that I had Firefox set up to ask me what to do with cookies and I would invariably reject them from every new site I visited forever. I don't want advertisers and marketing people spying on me. There are problems with this:
sometimes sites store session IDs in cookies and are broken if cookies are disabled.
I have to tell firefox what to do with cookies whenever I go to a new site.
Sites cannot permanently remember logins (e.g. amazon one click).
The latest Firefox (0.9.3) has a new cookie option 'Accept for this session only' which I am going to try out. This appeases my paranoia somewhat in that my long term activities cannot be traced but should allow me access to sites that store session IDs in cookies. It won't be able to remember logins etc but I think I can live with that.
