I knocked up a quick c++ utility to burn CPU time and, as long as the utility has foreground CPU boost it can trigger the transmitter space error.
This was good because I was freeing the wrong memory and causing a grand crash.

Lots of hastle writing CD's this morning, 2 coasters and one marginal. Sony disks so I would have thought they would be ok. Could be ancient Yamaha CD drive on it's way out.
