Blogger has an XMLRPC API that lets you post logs. Thoughts:
a set of python scripts could knock up a blog as a load of static html pages. This would then be totally under my control and I could host it anywhere. Google can search it so I don't need a database.
allows me to publish a work blog.

No joy getting RAS to work last night. Had to stop trying due to wife feeling neglected.
Almost got it going this morning but my battery is getting too flat for bluetooth.
