the iBook in it's natural habitat

Responsibility always exceeds authority
"Kinkler's First Law", thanks fortune.
Well, I have reloaded the iBook again. Like a "real man of genius" I did so without backing up my .bzero directory, so I will lose a post or two, and the pictures I had up. The good news is that I have completely wiped my drive, and it is no longer dual boot. I have settled on Yellow Dog Linux 4, no Mac OS at all. I like Mac OS X, but I am a Unix dude. And OS X is just not the same. Someday I will either get a bigger drive for this machine, and set up OS 9 for some games, and OS X, and Linux, or I will just punt and buy a new machine, and make this one my OS X machine. I hate to spend more money on this thing (366 iBook Clamshell Firewire). The cdrom won't read cdr's and the display is yellowing, looks bad compared to my girlfriend's new Toshiba display.
Now that I have settled on an OS and have some free disk space, I have backed up all of my stuff from my ancient FTP box (puffy or marvin). All I need to do now is login to marvin and mark all as read in mutt, copy the mbox over, and I'm done. Then I can do away with some of this hardware, or retask some of it. I'll put up a 'feature' sometime in this space with a small photo gallery. Currently I have almost 200 pictures just since christmas, since Candi got me a nice HP camera with a 256MB SD card ;)
I started to put up a real gallery on my RoadRunner Web space, but apparently it is only about 10MB. I just wanted a place to dump them all and tidy up later when they hit about a Gig.
I have an ear infection, and I am so manly that I was able to withstand while it swelled and swelled until it popped. Now I no longer have throbbing pain, only goop oozing out of the side of my head. Yum. I am taking antibiotics.
Well for once brevity will win and I will digress, now that you are all nauseous. Enjoy. Take heart, I had the forethought to print my last few posts to file before uploading, so they will be reposted later. One of them was pretty good, and the other one was quite a flame. Lots of rage from the Linc Man. Oops! I put my name in my blog! I thought the loud part and said the quiet part.
