From the Vegas Front (Friday)
Friday was a much more laid back day for us. John (my new father in law and I) started the day by picking up tuxes and Trudy's dress. By the time we returned some more of the guests had arrived. We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out, tracking down people who were arriving, and perpetually waiting to go out to dinner. Everytime we were ready to head out to grab a bite, someone's cell phone would ring, and we would get asked to wait just 20 more minutes, as someone else was going to meet us.
Dinner eventually got consumed, and the ladies adjourned themselves to decorate and do random girl-stuff. The rest of us hung out in the lounge and boozed. Eventually, everyone got back together, and we decided to head to the Fremont Street Experience. It was really cool. I am not sure if the show changes hourly, but the one we caught featured really good music, The Who, Stones, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, etc. I really enjoyed it. The screens used for the experience are getting revamped, they are going from like 400k pixels to 44M. A small section is already refurbed, and the demo it shows looks damn impressive.
From Fremont we decided we would take the bus down the Strip to Treasure Island to catch the Pirate Show. It ended up being an exciting ride for the Vegas locals on the bus, since most of our party of 15 was completely trashed. By the time we made it to TI, we had missed the show. Since it was one block up, we walked to the Mirage to see the Volcano erupt. Cool, but not amazing. Then we waited for the next bus. And waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually, we just hopped a cab back to the Luxor.
